A fast-food chain is poised to open a store at Sunshine Plaza, amid speculation that a major global apparel brand could also be preparing to join the centre’s retail mix.

Zeus Street Greek, which is at 49 locations around the country, will open its first venue on the Sunshine Coast “soon”.

The chain claims to be “Australia’s leading Mediterranean food brand”.

“We serve real Greek food, made for mortals,” the company stated on social media.

“From flame-grilled pitas to feel-good bowls, salads, chips and loukoumades. It is healthy, fast, and full of flavour.”

The new eatery will be among a handful of stores to open or be revitalised at the region’s biggest shopping centre in coming months.

Fast-food chain Zeus Street Greek will open an eatery at the plaza.

Australian-born contemporary women’s fashion label, Sabo Skirt, will launch its first Sunshine Coast store. It is known for Instagram-worthy pieces and occasion wear.

Established footwear and clothing brand Ariat will open its first ‘brand store’ in Australia. It specialises in premium western and equestrian lifestyle apparel and performance boots.

Lululemon is expanding its footprint with an enhanced store experience and larger product range, while Cotton On will unveil a supersized store housing three brands – Cotton On, Cotton On Body, and Cotton On Kids – in one location.

Rumour abounds, on social media, that clothing and accessories giant Uniqlo could have a presence at the plaza. There was some talk that a store may open in September.

There has also been some discussion about leading sneaker and sports fashion retailer JD Sports coming to the centre.

The plaza would not comment on the speculation. Uniqlo Australia did not confirm or deny the rumour, when approached by Sunshine Coast News.

“We are always looking for new opportunities to connect with customers and share our LifeWear philosophy with new communities in Australia,” the company stated.

Several stores have recently opened, including The LEGO Certified Store, which is the first on the Sunshine Coast. It features exclusive and latest release sets, interactive play stations, and a bespoke LEGO Surfer sculpture.

Palermo Perfumes opened its first Sunshine Coast store, offering more than 1600 designer-inspired perfume options at accessible prices.

Joe’s Deli has brought a modern take on the classic New York corner deli. The eatery is the company’s third on the Sunshine Coast.

Noosa Chocolates Factory has unveiled a new look for its original plaza store.

Sunshine Plaza marketing manager Bianca Price said the recently opened and soon-to-open stores are suited to the centre.

Pop Squads is a relatively new addition.

“We’re thrilled to welcome this incredible mix of new and refreshed retailers to Sunshine Plaza, bringing the Sunshine Coast community unique shopping and dining experiences they won’t find anywhere else in the region,” she said.

“This lineup highlights the Sunshine Coast’s growing appeal to major retailers, and we’re proud to continue to evolve Sunshine Plaza’s offering to reflect how people want to shop, dine and connect.”
