The team behind three popular Sunshine Coast venues has opened a new wine bar just steps from the beach, bringing a taste of Spain’s Basque Coast to a popular coastal dining strip.
Bar Rosi is the latest venture from the group behind El Capitano, Dona Cocina Mexicana and Tanglewood Bakery, with group executive chef Matt Woodhouse at the helm of the menu.
Located on Hastings Street in Noosa, the new venue serves an evolving selection of pinchos, bocadillos, croquetas and share plates, alongside Spanish, Australian and European wines, cocktails, spritzes and seasonal pours.
Belmondos Group operations manager Carly Baum said opening Bar Rosi was an exciting step for their team.
“It reflects our continued confidence in Noosa and the wider Sunshine Coast hospitality industry,” she said.
“It has given us the opportunity to create something fresh for Hastings Street while also providing career growth across the Belmondos Group.”
The new venue has expanded the group’s local workforce across a range of hospitality roles.
“Bar Rosi has created approximately 10 local jobs, spanning kitchen, bar, floor and management positions, and we’re proud to be contributing to the local hospitality community,” Ms Baum said.

Ms Baum said the venue had received an encouraging response since opening.
“We’ve welcomed a great mix of Noosa locals, returning guests from our other venues and visitors discovering Bar Rosi for the first time,” she said.
“Guests have really embraced the relaxed yet super intentional feel, the Spanish-influenced menu and our focus on good food, wine and genuine hospitality.
“As a new venue, we’re continuing to listen, refine and evolve, but the support and feedback so far have been overwhelmingly positive.”
Ms Baum said the Sobrasada Doughnut with whipped ricotta, honey and walnuts, and the Spanish Sausage with wood-roasted peppers, had been among the most popular dishes.
“Along with our Paella Moolooaba King prawn, local fish, saffron bisque, which is designed for sharing and captures what Bar Rosi is all about, generous, social dining,” she said.
“We’re seeing strong interest in fresh, food-friendly wines that suit the Noosa climate and complement the coastal Spanish flavours of the menu.”
