Work on an eight-level, 200-apartment complex has reached a major milestone, with the project reaching its highest point.

The St Clair development is on an 8976sqm site on Waterside Retreat at Birtinya Island, overlooking Lake Kawana, and will comprise dwellings with two, three and four bedrooms plus penthouses.

Habitat Development Group last week marked the building’s “topping out”, which signals the structure reaching its highest point before internal works commence.

It has previously been reported that the project will cost about $220 million and provide up to 400 jobs during the construction phase.

The milestone comes after the development group celebrated the start of construction on The Millwell in Maroochydore earlier this month.

“These back-to-back milestones reflect not only the strength of demand but our commitment to creating vibrant, liveable communities right here on the Sunshine Coast,” Habitat managing director Cleighton Clark said.

“We’re proud to be a locally based team delivering projects that people are genuinely excited to live in.”

St Clair will include resort-style amenities including a private lounge, 25m pool, rooftop terrace with ocean and hinterland views, and outdoor dining and entertaining areas.

It is more than 60 per cent sold to date.

“The Sunshine Coast is growing rapidly but our focus remains the same: to contribute positively to that growth with homes that stand the test of time in places people truly want to live,” Mr Clark said.

The developer also delivered Market Lane Residences and The Corso Collection in the Maroochydore CBD.

St Clair is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of next year.
