Three more tenants have been confirmed for an emerging five-storey building at the gateway of the new Maroochydore CBD.
An international architecture firm and two well-known local eateries are set to move into the A1 building, developed by local developer Evans Long, on First Avenue.
MODE Design, which has 10 offices around the world, will be joined by KIBOU Japanese Bar and Kitchen and Harvest Cafe. They will take up 500sqm space within the building.
Evans Long Head of Development Sujay Singh was thrilled to welcome the latest tenants.
“We’ve worked hard to secure the right type of ground floor retail tenancies for A1, and both KIBOU and Harvest Café fit the bill perfectly,” he said.
“Both businesses have multiple Sunshine Coast locations and have a high-quality offering that the locals adore.
“We are also excited to welcome MODE Design (Architects & Urban Designers) to the building, who have an international presence and eight studios across Australia and New Zealand with alliances in Vietnam and India.”

The owner of KIBOU, Rakhui Jung, said the business operates seven premises on the Sunshine Coast, under the Hikaru brand, from Twin Waters to Beerwah.
“We are proud to have been growing steadily since we first opened in 2014,” he said.
“Most of our stores are located on the southern end of the coast, with four of our sushi restaurants in Kawana, Baringa, Warana, and Birtinya.
“I’m really looking forward to bringing the food that locals know and love to Evans Long’s new building in the Maroochydore City Centre.”
Harvest Breads and Café have been located at the Kon-Tiki building for the past four years and their second local store, Harvest on First, will be the ground floor lobby café of A1.
Café owners Mike Somerville and Sharon Cook looked forward to opening the store.
“We’ve been in Maroochydore since 2018 and are looking forward to expanding the business across the coast,” Sharon said.
“Our philosophy is to create natural, homemade, quality foods that people enjoy and that’s exactly what we will be bringing with us to Maroochydore City Centre.”
MODE Design Managing Principal, Rhonan O’Brien, said the studio relocation stems from a large amount of unprecedented growth the company had experienced in recent years.
“There has been subsequent growth across urban design, master planning, architecture, interior, Landscape and graphic design which has meant our team have had a very busy couple of years keeping up with that demand,” he said.
“This studio relocation to A1 in the city centre is essential as it aligns our business with a brand new professional address to pave the way for the next phase for the business.
“Our current studio at Birtinya has been home since we first opened our doors 16 years ago, but we are excited to venture to Maroochydore and take up 216msqm of A1 in early 2023.
There’s only one 108sqm of ground floor tenancy remaining available for lease.
A1 will be home to multiple Sunshine Coast professional service firms including Maropost, who will occupy two levels, as well as Sunshine Coast Property Accountants, Sherrin Partners and Yield Advisory. It’s expected to be completed early next year.
