Saturday, June 3, 6.15am:Â A man in his 30s with shoulder and hip injuries was transported in a stable condition to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a bicycle and vehicle incident on Okinja Road, Alexandra Headland, at 9.30pm last night.
Friday, June 2, 5.10pm: A patient in a stable condition was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital after a motorcycle crash on Landsborough Maleny Road, Maleny, at 2pm.
Friday, June 2, 5.10pm: A bushfire warning for Beerwah was cancelled at 4.05pm. Fire conditions have eased. Crews were no longer required on the scene at this incident.
Friday, June 2, 11.15am: A man who allegedly punched another man in the face, killing him, has been arrested on the Sunshine Coast and charged over his death.
Michael Hayes, 39, died at Gold Coast University Hospital on Thursday morning, days after the incident outside Sanctuary Cove’s Destino Wine and Cocktail Bar about 9.20pm on Saturday.
Mr Hayes had left the restaurant and was seen talking to a man, who a short time later allegedly struck him to the head, causing critical injuries. The perpetrator fled the scene on foot.
On Thursday, police arrested a 24-year-old Hope Island man at a Maroochydore address, charging him with unlawful striking causing death following the alleged serious assault.
He has been charged with one count of unlawful striking causing death and is due to appear at Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Friday.

Friday, June 2, 6.10am: Emergency services attended a boat fire on Hillcrest Court at Beerwah at 2.08am. No patients were reported on scene.
Thursday, June 2, 6.10am: A bushfire warning update was issued for Beerwah and surrounding areas at 7.16pm last night, at an advice level, to avoid smoke, associated with a hazard reduction burn.
Earlier (2.30pm Thursday): A bushfire warning has been issued for parts of the Sunshine Coast hinterland, to avoid smoke. The warning, at level ‘advice’, was for Maleny, Reesville, Wootha, Witta and surrounding areas. People were urged to avoid driving through smoke where possible, be aware of firefighters working in the area, stay indoors, and close windows and doors.
There was no direct fire threat to property but reduced air quality may cause health impacts for some people. Smoke may reduce visibility and affect driving conditions and roads may be closed.
Thursday, June 1, 2pm: A planned burn is set to take place within a section of the Tuan Environment Reserve near Cambroon on Tuesday, June 6 and Wednesday, June 7, as part of Sunshine Coast Council’s Bushfire Management Program.
Smoke will be noticed in immediate areas around Kenilworth and Cambroon, but impacts should be minimal. A fauna corridor will be maintained for wildlife. The reserve will be closed during burn operations.
Thursday, June 1, 9am: Tomorrow is the Maleny Show public holiday. It extends across the area of the former Caloundra City Council.
Sunshine Coast Council’s customer service counter at Caloundra will be closed, as will the libraries in Beerwah, Caloundra, Kawana, Maleny and the Conondale mobile library.
Wednesday, May 31, 5.15pm:Â Police were appealing for public assistance following a robbery of a business in Noosa Heads this morning.
Initial investigations indicate that about 1.30am, a man smashed the front door of the Hastings Street business and took a quantity of products before leaving the scene.
Police are also investigating the break-in of a second Hastings Street business that occurred around the same time, and believe the two incidents are linked.
Police have released CCTV of a person who may be able to assist with investigations.

Wednesday, May 31, 7am:Â SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast Aquarium has announced that its oldest Australian sea lion, Teiko, passed away on the weekend aged 26.
Teiko was born at the aquarium in 1997 as part of a breeding program and was adored by guests, staff and the local community. She delighted guests and trainers with her playful personality and was always the star of the seal presentations and swim experiences.
Teiko lived a rich life but sadly her health deteriorated due to age-related conditions. The compassionate animal team and dedicated veterinarians at SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast provided unwavering care and support.
The average lifespan of Australian sea lions is between 17 and 25 years.

Wednesday, May 31, 7am:Â Paramedics assessed five patients following a two-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway on-ramp at Woombye at 7.33pm last night. One patient in a stable condition with minor injuries was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital. The four other people declined further treatment or transport.

Tuesday, May 30, 6.35pm: Paramedics, along with Queensland Fire and Emergency Services officers, assisted a man in his 80s who sustained serious burns to his chest, abdomen and limbs from a fire on a private property at Cooran about 4.30pm. The patient was flown by the Rescue 500 Helicopter to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition.

Monday, May 29, 2.55pm:Â As part of an ongoing investigation, police are appealing for public assistance to locate a 63-year-old man missing from the Sunshine Coast since January 10, 2022.
Sereno Panozzo (pictured) was last seen on foot at a Robina car park on the Gold Coast on February 11, 2021. He has not been seen or heard from since.
Sereno does not have a phone or car, and may approach members of the public for help.
His whereabouts are unknown, however Sereno is believed to be in Queensland or Victoria, possibly in a park or other public area.
Police hold serious concerns for his welfare.
Sereno is described as Caucasian in appearance, about 180cm tall with brown eyes, brown-grey hair and a beard.
Detectives urge anyone with information regarding his whereabouts within the last 18 months to contact police.
Investigations are continuing.
