UPDATED: Monday, March 27, 7.40am: The rail line between Nambour and Yandina is closed today, while repairs continue on a bridge above Brockhurst Road.
Queensland Rail Head of South East Queensland Scott Riedel said crews were working to fix the bridge as soon as possible.
“Queensland Rail is advising its Sunshine Coast line customers that due to a bridge strike, buses will be replacing trains between Yandina and Nambour stations in both directions,” he said yesterday.
“The bridge has sustained damage, which has meant we have had to suspend rail traffic. Queensland Rail crews are working to resolve the issue as quickly as safely possible.
“We recommend adding an extra 45 minutes to your journey. Queensland Rail apologies for any inconvenience and appreciates the patience of our customers.”
There were droves of workers at the bridge during the weekend, when there was a widespread major track closure.
Northern lines, including Brisbane to Sunshine Coast, were closed during the weekend, when Cross River Rail project and general maintenance works were carried out. Buses were on hand for commuters.
Monday, March 27, 7am: Paramedics attended a house fire on Shaws Road, Beerwah, at 7.49pm last night. No patients were reported on scene.
Sunday, March 26, 4.40pm: A person was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a serious but stable condition, after a motorcycle crash on Marawa Drive at Parrearra at 3.15pm.
Saturday, March 25, 6.30pm: The Queensland Ambulance Service has confirmed that it attended multiple rescues on Mount Beerwah at the Glass House Mountains on Saturday.
“Tragically in one of the incidents, a person has lost their life. Our thoughts (and) condolences go out to all those impacted in today’s events,” it said on social media.
“Please take extra care when enjoying recreational activities in our beautiful mountain areas.”
The fatal incident occurred about 1.40pm.
The QAS thanked the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, Rescue Helicopter 500 and Rescue Helicopter 511, and all other services for their assistance.
Saturday, March 25, 6pm: Paramedics were called to a patient who reportedly fell about 10m from Mount Beerwah at 4.28pm. The patient was reported to be in a stable condition.
Saturday, March 25, 3.40pm: Paramedics were on scene at Mount Beerwah, where it was reported that a person had fallen at least 30m, at 1.40pm. The patient was reportedly in a critical condition. A helicopter was deployed to the scene.
Saturday, March 25, 2:05pm: A person was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a stable condition, after a single-vehicle rollover into a tree on Yurol Forest Drive at Pomona at 1.13pm.
Saturday, March 25, 11.45am: Paramedics transported a patient with smoke inhalation to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition after a unit fire on Mahia Terrace, Kings Beach, at 10.20am.
Saturday, March 25, 8.50am: Multiple paramedic crews were on scene at a paragliding incident on Mount Beerwah in the Glass House Mountains at 7.26am. One patient was being assessed with significant injuries.
The patient was transported by helicopter to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition.
Saturday, March 25, 8.50am: A man in his 50s was taken to Nambour Hospital, in a stable condition, after a reported snake bite to his leg at a private address on Menary Road at Coes Creek at 08:02pm.
Saturday, March 25, 8.50am:Â A person was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a stable condition, after a traffic crash on Duporth Avenue near The Esplanade at Maroochydore at 5.03pm last night.
Friday, March 24, 1.50pm: A person has been taken to Sunshine Coast University, in a serious condition, after a single-vehicle rollover on Fullertons Road at Glass House Mountains at 12.34pm.
Paramedics worked to extricate the person from the vehicle and motorists were urged to avoid the area, before the patient was taken to hospital.
Friday, March 24, 10.30am: A patient in a stable condition was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital after a two-vehicle crash on the service centre access at Glass House Mountains at 8.35am.
Friday, March 24, 7.15am: Two people were taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a reported vehicle and two-pedestrian incident on Carnaby Street and Plaza Parade at Maroochydore at 9.05pm last night. A woman in her 50s was in a stable condition with a leg injury, while a man was in a serious but stable condition with head, shoulder and leg injuries.
Friday, March 24, 7.15am: A man in his 30s was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition, with a suspected head injury, after falling from a scooter on Price Street at Nambour at 10.55pm last night.
Thursday, March 23, 1pm: Police have given an update after emergency services were called to a fire at Gympie Terrace, Noosaville, last night.
Police arrived shortly after 1am, locating several vessels well alight, and assisted to extinguish the flames and save other nearby boats.
The investigation to identify the cause of the fire is ongoing, however it is not thought to be suspicious.

Wednesday, March 22, 2.15pm:Â Police have charged three girls following investigations into an incident at a Tewantin address earlier this month.
Police will allege that on Saturday, March 11, a 13-year-old girl was invited into a home where she was subsequently prevented from leaving and filmed while being assaulted, taunted and cut with a knife over several hours.
Investigations led police to charge three girls, aged 12, 13 and 14, on March 13.
The 14-year-old was charged with four counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed in company, deprivation of liberty, enter dwelling and commit indictable offence, armed robbery whilst in company used personal violence, enter premises and commit indictable offence and wilful damage. She was remanded in custody and is due to face Maroochydore Childrens Court again next month.
The 13-year-old was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed in company, deprivation of liberty, armed robbery whilst in company used personal violence, enter dwelling and commit indictable offence, common assault and unauthorised dealing with shop goods. She is due to reappear in Maroochydore Childrens Court later this month.
The 12-year-old was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed in company, deprivation of liberty, armed robbery in company with personal violence, enter dwelling and commit indictable offence and unauthorised dealing with shop goods. She is due to reappear in Maroochydore Childrens Court later this month.
Police are appealing for people not to share any images or vision relating to this incident out of respect for the victim and to not add to the notoriety of those involved.

Wednesday, March 22, 9.45am:Â Paramedics transported a patient in a stable condition to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a two-vehicle crash on Parsons Road and Mons Road, Forest Glen, at 8.21am.
Tuesday, March 21, 3.15pm:Â Paramedics assessed a patient after a motorcycle crashed into a tree on Cole Creek Road, Cooran, at 1.13pm.
The patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Tuesday, March 21, 1pm:Â A 19-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle crash in Woombye this morning.
Initial investigations indicate a car and motorbike collided at the intersection of Diddillibah Road and Nambour Connection Road about 8am.
The motorbike rider, a 19-year-old Buderim man, sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.
The driver and sole occupant of the car, a 79-year-old Woombye woman, was not physically injured.
Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision from the area to come forward.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Monday, March 20, 12.05pm: The Sunshine Coast Scorchers have won the Queensland women’s first grade cricket competition. The minor premiers defeated the University of Queensland by 87 runs at Allan Border Field in Brisbane on Sunday.
The team scored 5/329 in their 50 overs, with Georgie Boyce hitting an unbeaten 108 from 135 balls. They then dismissed their opponents for 242 in 47 overs.
They also won the title in 2021.

Sunday, March 19, 8.15am:Â Multiple paramedics transported five patients to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a multi-vehicle crash on the Caloundra Road and Steve Irwin Way exit at Meridan Plains at 5.31pm yesterday. This included:
- A man in his 60s stable with a foot injury.
- A woman in her 50s stable with neck pain.
- A woman in her 20s, who was initially entrapped, in a serious but stable condition with a head injury.
- A woman in her 20s stable with neck pain.
- A male primary school aged child stable with a significant leg injury.
Sunday, March 19, 8.15am:Â Paramedics attended a single-vehicle crash reported on Tunnel Ridge Road, Landsborough, at 12.40am on Sunday morning. A male with a significant leg injury was transported in a stable condition to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
