A Sunshine Coast boutique developer has built one of the best homes in Australia and has even bigger ambitions.

Moffat Beach-based Besal claimed the Master Builders award for best individual home from $650,000 to $750,000, with its stunning house at Dicky Beach.

The impressive project also took out the state award in October.

The developer’s founder and Director, Beau Salter, said the awards were a testament to the hard work and vision of the Besal team and subcontractors.

“While the awards are great recognition of the high standards we strive for, the most satisfying thing is the acknowledgement that we are getting it right,” he said.

When starting Besal, Mr Salter focused on high quality beachside townhouses.

With unit towers, older houses or luxury houses being the main beachside living options on the Sunshine Coast, Mr Salter wanted to offer something special for downsizers.

“We want to create a stunning home that embodies lifestyle for those wanting low maintenance living, the out of towner to weekender in, or for the astute investor,” he said.

Thirteen per cent of Sunshine Coast residents live in townhouse style properties and the market was tipped to continue growing past the 2032 Olympics.

The Smith, which is set to be built at Mooloolaba.

Mr Salter said he now has his sights set on delivering his best build yet.

‘The Smith’ in Mooloolaba showcases Besal’s commitment to high-quality residences including private air lift elevators, magnesium pools, double lock up garages, a master retreat plus two guest bedrooms and an indoor-outdoor multi-purpose space.

“I’m super excited about the potential of this project,” he said.

“The site is located close to Mooloolaba’s action and just a two-minute walk to the beach yet is at the end of a quiet culd-e-sac. It is the perfect site for these exceptional beach homes,” Mr Salter said.

The Smith is set to boast a novel luxury offering.

A collaborative design process with local, highly-acclaimed Designer, Trevor Reitsma, has resulted in a unique luxury offering.

“The minute I saw this site, my vision was set to provide a modern alternative to the busy beachfront units at a price point that is well below buying a house of the same level and location.” Mr Salter said.

“The Smith truly does provide for the best of both worlds, allowing its owners to engage with all that Mooloolaba has to offer, while being able to retreat to their own private sanctuary and relax.

“This is a location where owners have the luxury of leaving their car at home as Mooloolaba’s amenities are on their doorstep.”
