A man has been charged with dangerous driving and drink-driving after two cars crashed and police allege he fled into nearby bushland.
Police and emergency services were called to Bells Creek Arterial Road at Baringa on Monday, September 28, just before 10pm, to reports a silver Toyota Corolla and a blue Volkswagen Golf had collided and veered off the road.
It will be alleged that, when officers arrived at the scene, one of the drivers attempted to flee the scene on foot. He was apprehended by officers in nearby bushland a short time later and taken into custody.
A 22-year-old Elimbah man has been issued a Notice to Appear for one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, fleeing the scene of a crash, driving under the influence of liquor and driving a vehicle whilst plate not attached.
He is due to appear in Caloundra Magistrates Court on December 10.
