Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam vision as they investigate a Bruce Highway crash that left two people injured.
Early enquiries indicate that a southbound Hino flatbed truck collided with the rear end of a southbound Volvo semi-trailer at Banya on Saturday, September 26, at about 1.15pm.
The driver and passenger of the Hino were trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency services.
The driver of the Hino, a 57-year-old Creastmead man, was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with head and limb injuries. He was in a stable condition.
The passenger, a 50-year-old Jimboomba woman, sustained a minor injury to her foot and was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for treatment.
The driver and sole occupant of the Volvo, a 27-year-old Goodna man, was uninjured.
The southbound lanes of the highway were closed for about two and a half hours while the Forensic Crash Unit examined the scene.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing, and anyone who may have relevant dashcam vision is urged to contact police.
