Two teenagers have been charged after an allegedly stolen vehicle was found burning on a Sunshine Coast beach.
Police will allege a black Denza B8 station wagon and a white Volkswagen Passat were stolen from an address on Roderick Street, Moffat Beach on Thursday, between 1am and 3am.
Emergency services were called to Seaview Terrace to reports the Denza was on fire on the sand at 4.24am. The vehicle was subsequently destroyed in the blaze.
The Volkswagen was located abandoned and undamaged a short distance away.
It will be further alleged the offenders then attempted to enter multiple other vehicles and addresses in the area, including an Isuzu D-Max, from which a wallet was stolen, on Glenary Avenue.
After investigations, police attended an address on River Esplanade in Mooloolaba on Sunday, where a 19-year-old Nambour man and a 16-year-old Torquay girl were taken into custody.
The man was charged with two counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle at night in company and enter premise and commit indictable offence, as well as one count each of arson, wilful damage, enter dwelling and commit, enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, attempted enter dwelling with intent at night in company, driving with a suspended license and possessing a knife in a public place.
He was also charged with three counts of fraud and two drug offences, and was due to face Maroochydore Magistrates Court on September 28.
The girl was charged with two counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and enter premise and commit indictable offence, one count each of arson, enter premise with intent to commit indictable offence, enter dwelling and commit, attempt enter dwelling with intent at night in company and possess used utensils or pipes, as well as three counts of fraud.
She was due to face Maroochydore Childrens Court on September 28.
