Police are seeking public assistance after an elderly man was allegedly assaulted at a Sunshine Coast beach.

Police allege a 74-year-old man was assaulted by another man at Warana Beach on August 8, at about 11.30am.

The alleged offender is described as Caucasian, 180cm tall with a medium build, shoulder-length curly grey hair, wearing yellow or gold mirrored sunglasses and potentially in his 40s or 50s.

The man was accompanied by a woman who is described as Caucasian, 165cm with an average build and shoulder-length straight hair.

They were with an adult golden retriever dog.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information is urged to contact police.

Investigations are ongoing.
