A college offering an alternative education pathway for disengaged senior high school students is set to relocate to a new campus in 2027.
Kairos Community College in Nambour offers a better alternative for students in Years 10 to 12 who have struggled in mainstream schooling.
The fee-free college focuses on small class sizes, pastoral care and tailored learning support designed to help young people reconnect with education.
Construction is progressing on a purpose-built facility at 32 Coronation Avenue, Nambour as the college looks toward a permanent future.
The purpose-built facility is expected to strengthen long-term education opportunities for disengaged young people across the region.
The college has been temporarily occupying 66-68 Currie Street, Nambour since January.

It’s hosting an open day for prospective students and their families May 29 from 11am to 12.30pm at its Currie Street campus.
Guidance officers, school counsellors, youth workers, case managers, psychologists, medical specialists and occupational therapists are also encouraged to attend.
Kairos Nambour head of campus Tim Robinson said the college aimed to provide students with a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
“At Kairos Nambour, we believe every young person deserves an environment where they feel seen and supported,” Mr Robinson said.
“Our campus provides a permanent, inclusive space where students can reengage with, or even find their passion for learning, and find a clear path forward.”
The college also has campuses in Caloundra and Deception Bay.
