A new cafe has opened at a familiar riverside site, with its signature focaccia sandwiches quickly becoming a customer favourite.

River Kind has launched at Shop 255 Gympie Terrace, Noosaville, replacing the former Grind Cafe venue.

The cafe is owned by Domenic and Kristy Butera, with the pair bringing together backgrounds in hospitality and design.

“Really, we’re just two foodies at heart,” Ms Butera said.

Opening its doors in late September, Ms Butera said the riverfront location was a major drawcard when the opportunity to open River Kind became available.

“Have you seen the view? It’s one of the best spots on the river, so we weren’t letting it slip past,” she said.

“The river has been yearning for somewhere to swing by for fresh salads, good bites and great coffee.”

She said the cafe was designed to feel comfortable and familiar, with a focus on creating a welcoming environment for locals and visitors.

“Come on in, make yourself at home. Literally. We want River Kind to feel like you’ve popped over to our place,” she said.

“You’ll get a warm welcome and food that’s homely, colourful and full of life. Shoes are optional.”

The menu at River Kind includes signature focaccias, vibrant salads and colourful drinks.

Ms Butera said the cafe would continue to evolve its offerings, with plans to introduce new drink options and explore a riverfront picnic range for customers.

“Our menu follows the seasons, so there’s always something new to try,” she said.

“Our regulars can count on a small brekky menu sticking around though.

“The headliners are our signature focaccias, our vibrant salads and our cold brew coffee and teas.

“Soon we will convert our beer lines, so cold brew, tea and coffee will be on tap. It’s fast and fresh and flowing all day, every day.”

Ms Butera said the response had been encouraging as the business established itself in Noosaville.

“We’ve been welcomed with big open arms,” she said.

“We didn’t want to be just another version of what’s already on the river. We wanted to fill a gap, and the locals have really backed us for it.”
