A finalist in the 2026 Sunshine Coast Business Awards (SCBA) has expanded its retail footprint despite challenging economic conditions.
Earlier this month, Slide Coffee Roasters opened its third location at 1/187 Thomas Street, Noosaville joining other store locations at Coolum Beach and Caloundra.
The family-owned business was named a finalist in the SCBA food and agribusiness category in recognition of its work in the region’s food and beverage sector.
Founded in 2017 by Aaron and Rahel Bradley, the established specialty coffee roaster supplies cafes and coffee drinkers across Australia.
Aaron Bradley said the business was determined to grow without compromising its values.
“To be honest, it’s pretty tough going for hospitality business at the moment with rising wages, fuel levies and inflation,” he said.
“The cost of doing business well without compromising on your values is high, but we believe it’s the best way to do business, and that long term we will build a more solid brand and foundation.”

The Noosaville store opening is also part of a changing Thomas Street precinct, where local businesses are helping bring fresh activity to the area.
“Thomas Street has always had a good vibe and we have always built our business around building a loyal, local customer base,” Mr Bradley said.
“It feels like the right location to build a local following, away from the hustle with more easily accessible car parking.
“We’re stoked to play a part in bringing some fresh energy to the street.”

The business works with specialty coffee producers and importers around the world emphasising quality, responsible sourcing and long-term relationships.
The new venue will focus on specialty coffee, showcasing a rotating selection of beans roasted at Slide’s Coolum Beach roastery.

Customers can explore different coffees from microlot farms and get guidance on selecting beans for home brewing. It will also offer locally supplied sweets to complement Slide’s drinks offering.
Slide also provides tasting cards with its coffees to help customers understand the product and the decisions behind their purchases.
“This is our passion and it’s why we showcase a tasting card with each coffee, as a gentle way to encourage people to consider the impact of their purchases,” Mr Bradley said.
Despite the challenges facing hospitality, the family-owned business is continuing to invest locally while remaining independently operated.
“We’re excited to be a part of this community,” Mr Bradley said.
“Opening in Noosa felt like the right move, after much success in our Caloundra store, we realised it would be nice to offer the same experience to the north end of the Coast.”
