Barbecue lovers from across Australia are set to gather in the region this September as a popular meat festival returns for its biggest event yet.
Now in its third year, Meat Noosa has grown into one of Queensland’s premier barbecue festivals, bringing together award-winning pitmasters, live-fire cooking, food vendors, craft beer, live music and thousands of barbecue enthusiasts.
This year’s event, at the Noosa Dolphins Rugby Club, will also host the Queensland Open BBQ Championships, with elite barbecue teams from across the state competing for the title of Queensland’s Best BBQ Team.
Sanctioned by the Australian Barbecue Alliance, the competition will see competitors judged across multiple categories as they battle for barbecue supremacy.
Festival-goers will be able to watch some of Australia’s top pitmasters in action, alongside live-fire cooking demonstrations, premium barbecue equipment, artisan food producers, family entertainment and a selection of craft beers headed by principal beer partner Heads of Noosa.

Event organiser Tom Turner said the addition of the Queensland Open BBQ Championships marked a major milestone for the festival.
“Hosting the Queensland Open BBQ Championships is a huge step forward for Meat Noosa,” he said.
“Bringing the state’s best barbecue teams together to compete for the Queensland title adds another exciting element to what is already an incredible day.”
Mr Turner said the festival was about more than just barbecue.
“Meat Noosa is about mates catching up, families spending time together and people discovering just how good Australian barbecue has become,” he said.
“Whether you’re a backyard barbecue enthusiast or someone who simply loves great food, there’s something here for everyone.”
The festival also supports the local community, with proceeds helping raise funds for the Noosa Dolphins Rugby Union Club to continue investing in grassroots sport and local facilities.
The festival will be held on Saturday, September 19, from 12pm to 7pm.
Following record attendance at previous events, organisers are encouraging visitors to secure tickets early.
