A woman has been charged after allegedly threatening members of the public.

Queensland Police said that it will be alleged that a 36-year-old was armed with a pair of scissors and threatened people along Price Street, on Tuesday at about 2.40pm.

Officers attended the area, after receiving multiple reports, and located the woman a short time later. She was taken into custody without incident.

No physical injuries were reported.

The woman was charged with one count each of going armed to cause fear and threatening violence.

She was due to appear before the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
