Police are appealing for public assistance as they investigate a hit-and-run incident that left an elderly pedestrian injured in Buderim.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the crash, which occurred about 5.34pm on Thursday, on Townsend Road.
Initial investigations indicate a vehicle travelling east along Townsend Road struck an 81-year-old Buderim woman as she was about to cross the road at a pedestrian crossing.
The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for treatment.
Police said the vehicle involved is believed to be an early-2000s silver Toyota Corolla hatchback with a black stripe along the side.
Investigators allege the vehicle continued travelling east after the collision before making a U-turn and briefly stopping at the scene. It then left the area travelling west.
Police are appealing for the driver of the vehicle to come forward.
The Forensic Crash Unit is also seeking assistance from anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage from the area around the time of the crash.
