A record number of Sunshine Coast tourism businesses have been recognised among the state’s best, highlighting the region’s strength as a leading visitor destination.
Almost 318 Sunshine Coast operators were accredited as part of the Best of Queensland Experiences Program (BOQEP), which is Tourism and Events Queensland’s official stamp of excellence awarded to tourism businesses that consistently deliver exceptional visitor experiences.
They were assessed against a range of criteria, including online reviews, recommendations and social media engagement, to recognise those that are highly regarded by their customers.
Visit Sunshine Coast CEO Matt Stoeckel said the high number of successful local groups was a reflection of the local tourism industry’s commitment.
“We know how great the Sunshine Coast is, but to have a record number of operators be recognised at this level really cements us as a premier destination,” he said.
“From attractions and experiences to restaurants and accommodation, it’s a huge hats off to everyone who has earned this prestigious accolade.
“Through their hard work and innovation, they go above and beyond to bring unforgettable Sunshine Moments and that authentic Sunshine Coast feeling.”

BOQEP moved to a recognition level format of gold, silver and teal in 2026, with each tier taking into consideration Global Review Index and overall BOQEP benchmarks.
Fourteen Sunshine Coast operators, all VSC members, received a gold stamp, which is the program’s highest level of recognition.

Epic Ocean Adventures Noosa’s Suzie Vermeulen said the team was “incredibly proud” as a small, locally owned tourism business to be awarded a gold stamp.
“It acknowledges years of dedication, hard work, innovation, and passion from our team, while reinforcing our position as one of Queensland’s leading nature-based eco tourism experiences,” she said.
“This recognition also reflects the commitment and genuine love for the environment shown by our local guides, who have spent years sharing the natural beauty, wildlife, and conservation values of the region with visitors.”
Operators recognised through the program can display their Best of Queensland Experiences stamp across marketing and promotional materials, helping visitors identify tourism businesses recognised for delivering high-quality experiences.

Sunshine Coast operators awarded Gold in the 2026 Best of Queensland Experiences Program included: Epic Ocean Adventures Noosa, Everglades Eco Safaris, Go Ride a Wave Noosa, Saltwater Eco Tours, Kanu Kapers Sustainable Noosa Everglades, Maleny Botanic Gardens and Bird World, Misty View Cottages, Narrows Escape Rainforest Retreat, RACV Noosa Resort, Spicers Clovelly Estate, Spicers Tamarind Retreat, Sunreef Mooloolaba, TreeTop Challenge – Sunshine Coast, and TreeTop Challenge Juniors – Sunshine Coast.
