Winter offers locals and visitors a vibrant calendar of sport, festivals and community events on the Sunshine Coast.
The season’s entertainment kicks off with Alex by the Sea – two days of live music and laid-back beachfront vibes at Alexandra Headland June 6; and The Sunshine Coast Music Awards 2026 shine a spotlight on the region’s best musicians and industry professionals at The Shed, Palmview June 7.
The Showdown Showcase at Kawana, June 9, will celebrate the bold storytelling and original screen content emerging from the Coast’s creative community.
The Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show celebrates its 120th anniversary at Nambour Showgrounds from June 12-14. The milestone event will feature fireworks, showbags, entertainment, livestock displays and family attractions.
The Moffat Beach street party on June 18 is an occasion to enjoy live entertainment, food and a relaxed coastal atmosphere. Later in the month, Caloundra’s CBD will transform into a festive winter playground for the Winter Wunderland Street Party on June 26 with live performances, markets, local food vendors and even the chance to experience snow in the heart of the Sunshine Coast.
The Queensland Oztag Tri Series will bring teams from across the state to Sunshine Coast Stadium from June 12-14, while swimmers can literally dive into the shortest day of the year at the Sunshine Coast Solstice Swim in Alexandra Headland on June 21.

Young athletes will then take centre stage at the Football Queensland Junior Cup from June 28-30, attracting emerging football talent from across Queensland to compete at UniSC.
The Queensland Garden Show returns to Nambour Showgrounds from July 10-12, offering gardening enthusiasts access to expert speakers, workshops and stunning displays.
The Australian Wearable Art Festival, on July 11 at Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort, Twin Waters, will showcase extraordinary creations that combine fashion, art and performance.
The Curated Plate, from July 24 to August 3, is a region-wide festival celebrating the Coast’s renowned producers, chefs and dining experiences.

Sunshine Coast Council’s Healthy Sunshine Coast program continues throughout winter, providing more than 80 low-cost activities ranging from outdoor fitness and water-based exercise to yoga, meditation and family-friendly sessions designed to keep residents active and connected.
Residents are also encouraged to support the local economy on Buy Local Day on June 27. The initiative highlights the important role local businesses play in shaping the Coast’s character and encourages the community to shop locally and support independent operators.
