A man has died after a vehicle rolled onto railway tracks at Kulangoor, causing significant disruptions to the rail network on Friday morning.
Emergency services were called to Nambour Connection Road about 7.46am following reports a car had left the roadway and rolled down an embankment onto nearby train tracks.
Police said initial investigations indicate a grey Holden Commodore was travelling southbound on Nambour Connection Road when the crash occurred.
The driver and sole occupant, a 28-year-old Pelican Waters man, was declared deceased at the scene.
Nambour Connection Road was closed in both directions following the incident, while train services across the rail corridor experienced major delays and disruptions for several hours.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
