Police have released vision of a vehicle believed to be linked to a hit-and-run that left a Sunshine Coast teenager seriously injured, as investigators renewed calls for public help.
The appeal came on Thursday as police continued investigating the incident involving 13-year-old Mooloolaba boy Frazer, who was struck while riding his bicycle on Sugar Road just after 6pm on May 7.
Police said Frazer was riding home from football training when he was hit at the roundabout intersection of Sugar and Wises roads in Buderim.
The vehicle is now believed to be a white four-wheel-drive dual cab utility with black rims and a white canopy. Investigations indicate it travelled south along Maud Street before turning into Sugar Road prior to the incident.
After the collision, police said the vehicle briefly continued along Sugar Road before it was believed to have turned right into Okinja Crescent.
Forensic Crash Unit investigators are appealing for the driver, or anyone with information about similar vehicles, to come forward.
Officers would also like to speak with the driver of a white Hyundai i20 three-door hatchback with P-plates, who stopped at the scene and may have witnessed the incident.
Frazer suffered serious leg injuries and remains in the Queensland Children’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition after undergoing four major surgeries.
The Sunshine Coast community has rallied behind the family, with a fundraising campaign raising more than $15,000.

The GoFundMe campaign described Frazer as an “active, kind-hearted young boy” and said the incident had deeply affected his family and those around him.
“Our community has been shaken by a heartbreaking accident involving 13-year-old Frazer, who was seriously injured in a hit and run while riding his bike,” the fundraiser states.
“Frazer is an active, kind-hearted young boy who should be out enjoying life with his mates not facing hospital stays, pain and recovery at such a young age.”
The fundraiser said donations would support Frazer throughout his recovery journey, help with anything the family may need along the way and hopefully replace his bike to give him “something positive to look forward to” when he was ready.
“No family should have to go through something like this alone,” organisers wrote.
Anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage from Sugar Road, Wises Road or Maud Street between about 6pm and 6.15pm on May 7 has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1800 333 000.
