A Grammy-nominated artist is set to headline the Sunshine Coast’s biggest live music event later this year.
Billed as a major country music festival, the second annual Strummingbird Festival will take over the Kawana Sports Precinct on October 18, with chart-topper Post Malone leading the lineup.
The performance will mark Malone’s first Australian appearance since his sold-out sets at the Spilt Milk festival three years ago.
Known for hits including Circles, Rockstar and Sunflower, Malone has increasingly shifted into country music following the release of his country album F-1 Trillion.
Strummingbird’s Sunshine Coast stop forms part of a three-date national run, with the festival also heading to Ballarat and Newcastle.

The lineup will feature a mix of international and Australian country, folk, blues and roots acts, including rising American country star Bailey Zimmerman, Nashville performer Cooper Alan, Grammy-winning country singer-songwriter Cam and Australian indie folk favourites Sons of the East.
Last year’s Sunshine Coast leg of Strummingbird attracted a sellout crowd of 28,000 people.
