Construction has started on a mixed use development with 179 apartments in the heart of a Sunshine Coast beach town.

Work is underway on the $300 million project Eden Caloundra, on the corner of Bulcock Street and Knox Avenue within Caloundra.

The Gardner Vaughan Group project will see the delivery of two architecturally designed towers two, three and four-bedroom apartments and penthouses, with access to extensive resident amenities, alongside five ground-floor retail spaces.

Early buyers Sean and Suzanne Allen, who attended the sod turn event, said the quality of the resort-style amenities and prime location near Bulcock Beach drew them to Eden Caloundra.

The pair, who’ve lived in Caloundra for almost 20 years, are rightsizing into a three-bedroom apartment from a large four-bedroom property to enjoy a lower-maintenance lifestyle with all the benefits of coastal living.

“Eden’s prime location was a massive draw for us. You’re in the heart of Caloundra, with stunning views of the water and easy access to restaurants, the beach and anything that you might need,” Mr Allen said.

“’The size and quality of the apartments are also perfect for our final home, and we’ll still be able to enjoy all kinds of amenities like the pool without having to manage the maintenance.”

Ground work has begun on the inner-town development.

The towers project will replace a conspicuous orange building. It is GVG’s fourth development on the Sunshine Coast.

Mr Allen said they had seen Gardner Vaughan Group’s Bask Bokarina development come to life, showcasing a high-quality build.

“It was an easy choice for us when the opportunity to purchase at Eden arose,” he said.

Gardner Vaughan Group commercial director Sam Gardner said the response from local buyers was testament to the design of Eden Caloundra.

“It also speaks to the appeal of Caloundra as a place to live, invest and belong,” he said.

“Buyer interest at Eden Caloundra has been strong, with over 60 per cent of apartments already sold.

“Today, our Sunshine Coast portfolio totals $628 million and we are actively pursuing new opportunities to continue delivering for the region.”
