A man has been airlifted to hospital in a potentially life-threatening condition after a truck and a utility collided in Landsborough.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Old Caloundra Road and Steve Irwin Way around 9am on December 22, when the man became trapped in a vehicle.

A Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland at 9.20am and landed at a nearby golf club.

The critical care LifeFlight doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic worked alongside local QAS paramedics to treat the man for chest, pelvic and limb injuries.

The man, in his 40s, was then airlifted to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for urgent care.
