A man is facing firearm and drug charges after being arrested on the Sunshine Coast on Saturday.
It will be alleged that police received reports of a man, who was wanted about other matters, being armed and making threats near a King Street, Buderim, address about 4.40pm.
Officers arrived a short time later and put a cordon around the address.
A 37-year-old Loganlea man then allegedly attempted to leave the address in a nearby vehicle but was intercepted on foot and arrested by police.
It will be further alleged that during a search of the man’s bag that a homemade firearm, taser, meat cleaver and several other items were located.
The man has been charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon and one count each of possession of knife in a public place, possessing dangerous drugs, fail to take reasonable care of syringe and authority required to possess explosives.
He was refused police bail and is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court today.
