Rays of fortune are shining on the Sunshine Coast, where a local woman has become the latest lottery winner in the region.

The Coolum Beach resident was stunned to discover her Weekday Windfall ticket had made her a millionaire.

She held the only division one-winning entry nationally in draw 4535 on Friday, April 18.

“I’m very excited,” she said.

“It still doesn’t feel real. I keep thinking I’m going to wake up and it’ll all be a dream.

“I checked my ticket while watching the telly, just winding down for the night. When I saw the win, I couldn’t believe it.

“I just said ‘OMG’ and sat there staring at the ticket for a good few minutes.

“Normally, I only ever win something small and then I treat myself to another ticket.

“We treated ourselves to some cocktails on the weekend to celebrate.”

The Sunshine Coast has had five major individual lottery wins in less than four months in 2025, worth more than $6.26 million.

The woman said the winnings would be a perfect addition to her retirement fund.

“It will help our retirement fund that we’re building,” she said.

The woman purchased her six-game QuickPick on The Lott website.

The winning numbers were 1, 36, 37, 44, 20 and 38, while the supplementary numbers were 17 and 23.

Most recently, a local took home $4.71 million after sharing last Tuesday’s $70 million Oz Lotto jackpot, with their ticket from Noosa Village News in Noosaville.
