A woman has suffered potentially life-threatening injuries after falling from a cliff on the Sunshine Coast.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said paramedics were called about 11.45am after the woman, aged in her 30s, fell about eight metres at Point Arkwright.

By 12.30pm, firefighters had helped stretcher the woman to the top of the cliff and she was under assessment in the car park off Jubilee Terrace where the Westpac Lifesaver helicopter had set down on standby.

The QAS spokesperson said the woman appeared to be injured in the pelvic area but no further information was available other than her condition was potentially “life threatening”.

She was taken by ambulance to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
