A Sunshine Coast woman’s tranquil morning in the garden blossomed into excitement when she received a phone call informing her she’d won big.

The Mooloolah Valley resident was told she had snared $518,000 in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4507.

The doting grandmother was stunned when she took the call.

“Is this fair dinkum?” she said over the line.

“Oh my god. Is this for real? I haven’t checked my tickets for this week.

“I can’t believe it. What were the winning numbers?

“I feel numb, but on cloud nine. My husband has come over and now he’s here beside me. What a surprise for the both of us.”

She said she had been working in the garden when the phone rang, but she would need a break.

“If I continue to garden, I’ll probably wreck the plants,” she said.

Some good news interrupted the gardening.

She said she was unsure how the winnings would be spent.

“We will have to use the rest of the day as a breather (and) think about it all. I don’t know how to feel,” she said.

“We will let our children know and talk to them about what we will do with the prize.”

Her winning 18-game QuickPick was purchased at Mooloolah Newsagency, Shop 2, 1 Jones Street, in Mooloolah Valley.

Mooloolah Newsagency owner Natalie Lelievre said her team was excited to have sold their first Division 1-winning entry, especially to a local customer.

“We’re so shocked,” she said.

“This has been a long time coming and we’ve been trying our hardest to sell a division one winning entry, and we’re just so grateful that it’s gone to a local customer.

“We’ve started to decorate our store with beautiful balloons and our entire team has grinning from ear to ear as we’re finally apart of the division one winning outlet crew.

“We’re sending lots of love and warm wishes to our lovely winning customer.

“She actually called us first thing this morning and let us know she was our winner.

“I still can’t stop smiling. Such a beautiful lady and so deserving of the winning ticket.”

The winning numbers were 34, 40, 29, 15, 19 and 37, while the supplementary numbers were 6 and 44.

There were 10 Division 1-winning entries in the draw.
