Ally Pettigrew and Bryce McFarlane’s wedding day started a little differently to most.

They met at Mudjimba for breakfast and then, with their toes in the sand of their favourite beach, in the quiet of the morning they exchanged their vows.

“It was so beautiful to be able to say the most personal things to one another and let all the emotions come with out with intimacy and privacy,” they said.

“It was the most perfect morning and a wonderful way to start such a hectic and memorable day.”

As they parted they knew the next time they would meet would be at the top of the aisle to be married at The Rocks Yandina.

The bride was chauffeured by her mum Susan in her late Pa’s classic maroon Holden EH ute, with Ally saying it made her feel like he was right there with her.

As the elegant gum trees rustled and swayed, and the Maroochy River created a spectacular backdrop to their rustic dream ceremony, Bryce nervously awaited his bride, supported by the couple’s closest family and friends.

More than 50 guests in all travelled from all over Australia to be with them for their special day.

The music started and three spritely “flower nannas” appeared, their role to sprinkle the petals along the aisle.

Ally took Bryce’s breath away and he shed a tear as she appeared, before they said their “I do’s”.

The weather was perfect for their under-the-stars dining, where they enjoyed wedding cupcakes created by one of their friends and then danced the night away.

Both Ally and Bryce said they wouldn’t change a thing about their wedding, that it was a perfect day in every way.

Their wedding celebrations were followed by a three-week honeymoon, travelling around the Whitsunday Islands.
