Work is progressing on a holiday park expansion, with new accommodation and facilities taking shape and a popular restaurant reopening ahead of the summer holidays.
The $12 million upgrade to Ingenia Holidays Rivershore at Diddilibah is engaging more than 120 local subcontractors, tradespeople and suppliers throughout the build phase, plus about 20 new hospitality and tourism roles upon its completion later this year.
Works on the new pool precinct are progressing rapidly, including the feature swimming pool and adjacent camp kitchen.
Elevated decks are taking shape, glamping tent structures are being erected, and four bespoke tiny homes have arrived at the park.
Site preparation has begun for the installation of more than 2000sqm of turf and 1750 native tubestock and mature plants. Underground services, roads, drainage, and stormwater systems are well advanced across the site.
The Driftwood Restaurant Cafe and Bar has officially reopened with a new deck area overlooking the pool, increased seating capacity and a revamped menu featuring ingredients sourced from local producers and food suppliers.
Pizzas are made with handcrafted dough from neighbouring Sundough Artisan Pizza. The bar is stocked with 10Toes Brewery Pipeline on tap, and gin from Beachtree Distilling Co – a local distillery that manages all steps of its production on the Sunshine Coast.
The expansion is set to be complete by mid December, in time for summer holidays.
Tourism at Ingenia Holidays executive general manager Matthew Young said the resort was a leading destination for many.

“Whether it’s generations of Aussie families who return every summer or international visitors discovering this slice of paradise for the first time, demand for the region is only continuing to grow.”
He said locals were playing key roles in the upgrade.
“As part of this expansion, we’ve prioritised the local Sunshine Coast businesses that truly make this region what it is, spanning professional services, construction expertise, labour, and materials,” he said.
“Our local partners are all exceptional at what they do, and we couldn’t have delivered this without them. We can’t wait to welcome even more guests to Rivershore this summer and beyond.”
The expansion investment reflects high demand for Ingenia Holidays Rivershore, which maintained more than 90 per cent occupancy across last summer holidays, exceeded 98 per cent during the Christmas to New Year period and Easter 2026, and is averaging 94 per cent occupancy during the winter holidays and grey nomad season.
Visit Sunshine Coast CEO Matt Stoeckel said the upgrade would further improve the venue.

Several Sunshine Coast businesses are involved in the project, including Covey, Sunshine Coast Civil Solutions, Hoogenhouts Construction, Tiny House Co and Peninsular Pools, providing engineering, construction, glamping, tiny-home and pool expertise.
The development also includes sustainability measures such as recycled materials in concrete, more than 2000 native plants and a focus on sourcing materials and services locally.
