The Sunshine Motorway was closed for a number of hours in both directions at Marcoola following a serious crash involving five vehicles.
Emergency services were called to the incident about 7.50am, with Queensland Ambulance Service crews assessing six patients at the scene.
One patient was trapped following the crash, while four patients were being taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further treatment.
Queensland Police have advised the motorway has been reopened as of 10.15am.
