A former Matildas player is among those behind a new bullion store on the Sunshine Coast.

Lisa Casagrande, who played 64 games for Australia and competed at two World Cups after making her international debut as a 14-year-old, said the new store was an opportunity for locals to grow their wealth through greater access to precious metals.

Queensland Bullion Company specialises in gold, silver and platinum bullion sales and storage for seasoned investors or those starting out in the world of precious metals.

It follows the opening of a bullion store by Harringtons at Noosa in November.

“Our high security, state-of-the-art designed Sunshine Coast location allows people to buy, sell and store bullion safely, securely and have it fully insured, where we offer the best prices for precious metals, supported by a service that is experienced, professional, friendly, safe and discreet,” said Ms Casagrande, who is the co-owner of Queensland Bullion Company, which is insured by Lloyd’s of London.

“Having operated successful bullion businesses in other locations, we saw the Sunshine Coast as the perfect place to expand.

“The Sunshine Coast, with its growing economy and population, the value of its property market and emerging wealth demographic, allows us to offer investors of all sizes a safe and secure investment opportunity.

“I’m excited by not just offering investors the opportunity to diversify their wealth portfolios but also launch the Queensland Bullion Company as a 100 per cent locally owned and operated business on the Sunshine Coast.

Queensland Bullion Company co-owners Lisa Casagrande and John De Nardi. He will look after the daily operations of the store as the managing director.

“After two years of careful planning and development we are thrilled to open our doors and provide a welcoming space for those interested in the timeless investment of gold bullion.

“Our custom-built, high-security vaulting facility houses one of Australia’s strongest vaults backed with state-of-the-art security systems.

“This includes high-end cameras, access control, seismic sensors, time delays (and) time-of-day lockouts just to name a few.”

Ms Casagrande said gold and other precious metals offered stability during times of uncertainty, allowing investors to diversify their portfolios and mitigate risks from other assets.

Gold set a new record high of $3150 per ounce in October. It has remained above $3000 – traditionally a barrier – since. It was priced around $500 per ounce 20 years ago.

“We offer a complete range of investment-grade cast bars and coins,” she said.

“All Queensland Bullion Company bullion is certified pure, investment grade and of the highest quality.

“We are also able to source any other brand of bullion our clients require.

“Our bullion offering starts with our pooled options where you can purchase by the gram, into our coins and finally cast bars, where currently our one kilo gold bar is worth over $100,000.

“We have a product for every type of investor.

“We also buy bullion from clients when they want to turn their investment back into cash.

“Our buy-back rates are some of the highest in Australia, and the ability to transact online, by phone or within our store makes the process simple and effective.

“This means our clients receive their money faster.

“Our experienced and expert staff, with over 20 years working within all areas of the precious metal industry, help our customers across aspects involved when investing in precious metals, whether it be buying, selling, delivering or storing bullion.”

The Queensland Bullion Company is located at 1/28 Maud Street, Maroochydore, and backs onto the new Maroochydore CBD precinct.
