Sunday, August 13, 6.25pm: The Sunshine Coast Marathon has been run and won, by Jason Hunt (2hr28min57sec) among the men and Beth Mckenzie (2:39.54) amid the women. The half marathon, which doubled as the national championships, was won by Liam Adams (1:02.55) and Genevieve Gregson (1.10.18). More than 8000 participants were signed up to take part over multiple distances.

Friday, August 11, 2.05pm: Paramedics assessed four people at the scene of a three-vehicle crash on Caloundra Road and Steve Irwin Way, Glenview, at 12.43pm. No patients required hospitalisation.

Friday, August 11, 7.15am: Paramedics attended a two-vehicle crash at Yandina Coolum Road at Coolum Beach at 7.52pm last night. Four people were treated at the scene and  transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in stable conditions. They included three teenage girls – one with suspected spinal injuries, one with facial injuries and one with back pain – and a woman with no obvious injuries.

Friday, August 11, 5.45am: Expect an almost perfect weekend of weather on the Coast, with sunny conditions on Saturday and mostly sunny conditions on Sunday. Temperatures should range between 11ºC and 26ºC, with just light winds. The fine weather should continue into next week, before a possible shower on Wednesday.

Friday, August 11, 5.45am: Two people were transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in stable conditions, following a three-vehicle crash on the Sunshine Motorway northbound at Mountain Creek at 3.41pm yesterday.

Thursday, August 10, 3.30pm: The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service is investigating two incidents on K’gari (formerly known as Fraser Island), where two collared wongari (dingoes) approached a group of adults before biting a woman on the thigh.

About 11.45am, the wongari approached and circled seven adults at Eli Creek. One of the wongari lunged and mouthed a woman on the thigh. A member of the group threw a stick at the wongari and scared them off.

The wongari went down Eli Creek and about 11.50am approached a woman from behind. When the woman turned around and saw the wongari, she fell and was bitten on the thigh.

QPWS rangers provided assistance to the woman and offered medical treatment, which was declined.

The investigation into both incidents is ongoing.

Visitors and residents on K’gari are reminded to remain vigilant at all times, and children must be kept under constant supervision.

Thursday, August 10, 7.40am: Paramedics transported a female with neck pain to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a stable condition, after a single-vehicle collided with a barrier on Aura Boulevard and Banya Avenue at Nirimba at 1.10am.

Thursday, August 10, 7.40am: Paramedics transported one person to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a stable condition, after a two-vehicle crash on Kawana Way and the Sunshine Motorway on-ramp at Sippy Downs at 6.06pm last night.

Thursday, August 10, 7.40am: A person was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a stable condition, following a two-vehicle crash on Mudjimba Beach Road at Mudjimba at 4.56pm yesterday.

Wednesday, August 9, 2.20pm: A patient in a stable condition was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a two-vehicle crash reported on Mon Terre Drive and Sugar Bag Road, Little Mountain, about 1pm.

Wednesday, August 9, 9.20am: A patient was transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with minor abrasions following a vehicle and e-scooter crash on Lady Musgrave Drive, Mountain Creek, at 7.41am.

Tuesday, August 8, 11.15am: Sunshine Coast’s Kristina Clonan recently collected a silver medal at the Track Cycling World Championships.

Clonan, the only women’s sprinter in the Australian team, clocked a personal best of 32.956 seconds at Glasgow but was pipped by 0.136sec by German superstar Emma Hinze.

“I’ve had a bit of a turbulent year, so this is really, really nice,” she said.

It was particularly satisfying for the 25-year-old, who reinvented her career, switching from endurance racing to sprinting when she missed out on Olympic selection for Tokyo.

“If I thought about this when I was an enduro, it would seem a bit surreal, so I feel like I’m pretty hard on myself for the expectations. But it’s so special to get a medal.”

Tuesday, August 8, 10.10am: Paramedics were on scene at reports of a patient who had fallen down a cliff near the Paradise Caves off Seaview Terrace, Sunshine Beach, at 9.12am. A helicopter was deployed to the scene to assist in the rescue.

One patient in a serious but stable condition was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following the fall of about five metres.

Tuesday, August 8, 6.15am: Three people were assessed after a bus and vehicle incident on Walter Hay Drive, Noosaville, at 7.24pm last night.

A male in his 20s sustained chest and abdominal injuries and was transported in a serious but stable condition to Sunshine Coast University Hospital. A male in his 60s suffered minor injuries and was transported in a stable condition to Sunshine Coast University Hospital. A male in his teens was uninjured and declined hospitalisation.

Diversions were put in place along Walter Hay Drive, between Emu Mountain Road and Eenie Creek Road, following the crash. Motorists were advised to avoid the area or expect delays.

Monday, August 7, 7am: Paramedics transported a stable patient to Nambour Hospital following a single-vehicle crash on Eumundi Noosa Road, Doonan, at 8.02pm last night.

Sunday, August 6, 4.20pm: A person was transported to Nambour Hospital, in a stable condition, following a fall from a scooter on Halcyon Way at Bli Bli at 12.18pm.

Sunday, August 6, 1.05pm: Two people were transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in stable conditions, following a two-vehicle crash with a rollover on McKinnon Drive at Cooroibah at 11.26am.

Sunday, August 6, 1.05pm: A person with neck and leg injuries was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a stable condition, following a mower rollover at a private address at Rosemount at 11.14am.

Sunday, August 6, 1.05pm: A person was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a stable condition, following a fall from a ride on mower at a private address at Eudlo at 10.10am.
