Ultimate tribute night

Hidden Networks: Fungi, Flora and Fauna 

An exhibition of original artworks by illustrator Ingrid Bartokowiak is on display in conjunction with the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve Discovery Centre’s current theme: Fungi for Life. The world of fungi is fascinating, beautiful and sometimes, frankly, a bit strange – which makes it the perfect subject for illustrator Ingrid Bartkowiak’s latest body of work. Through a series of watercolour paintings, this exhibition celebrates the incredible relationships fungi have with flora and fauna, through a series of vibrant, diverse, and quintessentially Australian paintings.

When: Saturday, April 8, to Sunday, April 16. 10am-2pm.

Easter Saturday at Kings Beach Amphitheatre is promising a healthy line-up of entertainment for the whole family. Bring your picnic rug down with the fam bam and listen to some delicious tunes and check out the Barely Worn Markets. The musical line-up includes Triple J Unearthed star Trey Cooper; Ella Fence, who has over four million streams on Spotify; and sibling duo Sailing in Space with their own unique brand of alt-pop anthems.

Autumn leaf bowls

Join in this tactile and fun workshop, suitable for children aged three and up. You’ll go on a hunt to find the tree that matches your chosen leaf, then form a small bowl from airdrying clay and press your favourite tree leaf into it. This workshop is a botanic treasure hunt with a clay twist. This workshop is part of the Bushland Holiday Program, seasonally inspired activities for children, presented by the Sunshine Coast’s leading nature play facilitators. Registration is essential.

Good Vibrations Retro and Vintage Festival

A celebration of all things yesteryear, Good Vibrations brings together all of the classics from the good old days. Musical theatre holiday intensive

Slow Art Day 2023 

Caloundra Regional Gallery is participating in the International Slow Art Day 2023 program. Attendees will be allocated five works from the Local Artists – Local Content Art Prize exhibition to observe slowly for five to 10 minutes each. Then, with refreshment in hand, the group will gather into a talking circle and casually share their observations. There will be live music to complement the ambience.

Sentience In The Natural World

This exhibition of handweaving by Suzy Furness explores the ways in which a person’s sentience – their senses and feelings – are affected by spending time in the natural world. It was thought once that only humans were capable of experiencing sentience. Scientific evidence now shows that many other creatures are sentient. Suzy’s exhibition is about the possible sentience of our cohabitants in these natural places.

When: Monday, April 17, to Sunday, April 30, 10am to 2pm.

Bubble Bender 

Come and play with bubbles in the bushland. Autumn is a time to tend the lungs. You’ll make bubble blowers of bamboo and bead, then blow-breathe-blow as you spread the bubbly happiness through the Botanic Garden.
