Bloom at NightQuarter

‘BLOOM’ features a powerhouse line-up of some of the top bands from southeast Queensland including BULLHORN, Dubarray, Bearfoot, Andrea Kirwin Band (pictured above), The Myths, Sky Eater, Jordan Mac & Standing Ovation. BLOOM is coming at you full power with high vibes weaved with ‘The Flow State Experience’ magic. There will also be some amazing interactive workshops from talented facilitators including Liquid Lyrics & The Art of Connection.

National Tree Day: Planting with Barung Landcare

Come along for a morning of tree Planting at the Barung Nature Centre on the Maleny Community Precinct to celebrate National Tree Day. Plant native vegetation to restore habitat in an area of Lowland Subtropical Rainforest. Barung nursery manager Cam Burton will take you on a walk around the site and reveal plans for Barung’s new home. Bring a picnic if you’d like to share lunch after planting. Please also bring your own gardening gloves, wear suitable outdoor clothing including covered shoes, long sleeves and a hat and plenty of water.

The Blues Man Adam James and his Leading Edge Band

The Jazz and Blues collective proudly presents The Blues Man Adam James and his Leading Edge Band. Unleashing his inner blues, Adam James is releasing his third studio album signalling his transformation into a bluesman, sophisticated storyteller and a pioneering Indigenous artist with very few peers. Adam’s country roots and blues fervour has created a sound that is undeniably his. He is a singer, songwriter and dynamic live performer and has gained a reputation as a favourite on big festival stages and also intimate performances thanks to his melodious voice and effortless on-stage appeal.

Jo Gabe Exhibition

Jo shows a variety of art in all mediums, displaying realism, contemporary, portraiture and landscape. There is generally a narrative which portrays a deeper meaning within. She has been awarded several prizes for her work and has sold in Australia, France, Russia and U.K. Jo has been painting since 2003 and enjoys working with oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolour.

Walking with Dinosaurs

Meet prehistoric plants from the time of dinosaurs. Dinosaurs roamed the earth for 200 million years, during a time when plant life and land masses looked very different. Join one of the friendly knowledgeable council guides for a leisurely walk through the Botanic Gardens focusing on the types of plants that existed 100 million years ago during the age of dinosaurs and before flowering plants.

Katie Noonan Quartet

Five-time ARIA Award-winning local artist Katie Noonan will take to the stage with her quartet band. Fifteen years ago Katie Noonan recorded her debut solo album ‘SKIN’ in Sydney and Los Angeles while pregnant and holding the hand of an awesome one-year-old boy called Dexter. Fast forward to now and Katie’s new band features her 16-year-old son Dexter on drums. Joining the mum and son team is extraordinary bassist/producer Steele Chabau and guitar supremo Brodie Graham.

The Sunny Coast Rude Boys

Arj Barker Comes Clean

Di Clark & D’Nossa Quintet — Sunshine Coast Jazz Club

Di Clark has been a powerhouse of the Brisbane jazz scene for more than a decade and has sung in many different settings from duos, small combos to big bands. Greg Stroud studied guitar in Melbourne under the tutelage of top Australian jazz guitarist Barry Moreton. His fluid guitar sound has complimented a diverse stylistic range of solo artists, duos, combos, and big bands. Di and Greg, as the vocal/guitar D’Nossa Duo, have a broad repertoire of songs emphasising the Great American Songbook and Latin standards in addition to contemporary songs given a unique jazz and/or Latin flavour.

Barrel of Laughs

In need of a good belly laugh? Grab your friends, dress up and head to the hinterland for a night with a difference. The Barrel at Clouds Vineyard and Funny Coast Comedy present this hilarious two-hour show of stand-up comedy.
