Opera Qld — Are You Lonesome Tonight

Experience the ultimate celebration of opera and country music live in the intimate Playhouse Theatre at The Events Centre, Caloundra, this June. Are You Lonesome Tonight features arias and songs by Puccini, Verdi, Slim Dusty, Troy Cassar-Daley and Dolly Parton, just to name a few. San Sisco – Between you and me Tour

Set to an upbeat indie-pop groove on the cusp of innocence and heartbreak, this is where San Cisco lives. ‘Awkward’. ‘Too Much Time Together’. ‘About You’. Lovesick calls gone to voicemail and endless pondering of what went wrong. Between You and Me is the fourth album by the indie trio from Fremantle released in late 2020. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat

The team at Buderim Youth Theatre of Excellence are proud to perform Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. The Andrew Lloyd Weber musical is a tale that follows the journey of a dreamer. Joseph is the son of Jacob and one of twelve brothers. He is given a coat of many colours by his father, which is symbolic of his favour and an object of his brothers’ jealousy. Featuring fabulous songs such as Close Every Door, Go Go Joseph and Any Dream Will Do.

Sunshine Coast Ultimate Fungal Wizardry

Join Urban Kulture as they return to their in-person beginner workshops to bring you hands-on short courses on skill development in gourmet and medicinal mushroom cultivation. You’ll kick-off in this workshop with the basics of Fungal Wizardry 101 where you’ll learn how to prepare five different food sources for your mushrooms. This will give you the skills to be able to make a total of 35 fruiting kits from a 1.7 kg bag of grain spawn. A single oyster mushroom fruiting kit ranges from $20 to $30 retail and they make great presents. You will make 2 different fruiting kits on the day as part of your ticket price.

World Environment Day Festival – Guided Walk at Book Farm

Join Hinterland Bush Links on a property Visit to the Book Farm. Jill Morris has been restoring the native vegetation on her property at the headwaters of the Obi Obi Creek over 30 years. Participants will enjoy a guided walk through the various stages of this restoration project. Meet at the IGA carpark behind the supermarket at 8.00 to arrange transport and please wear suitable outdoor, covered clothing and footwear and bring plenty of water.

World Environment Day Festival – Crystal Waters Village Market

The Crystal Waters Market is held on the Village Green with a focus on permaculture and sustainability. The market has a diverse range fresh produce, craft and bric-a-brac stalls, live music, inspiring speakers program discussing ecosystem restoration, kids playground, great coffee and food, and much more. Crystal Waters Eco Village is set on 640 acres of bushland at the headwaters of the Mary River, only 26km from Maleny or Woodford. This event is run in line with the current public health directives, if you are experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19 please do not attend.

The Spirit of Leonard Cohen Show

Leonard Cohen comes back to life and shares stories and songs from his intriguing life. You will hear old favourites such as Suzanne, So long Marianne, and of course probably his most well-known song Hallelujah. You will learn lesser known aspects of his “artistic” life and insights behind some of his songs. He freely exposes his relationship to love, sex, drugs, religion and politics, knowing he will retreat back up to the spiritual world via The Tower of Song.

The Beach Film Screening

Come along for a free afternoon screening of The Beach. This film looks at the relationship Australian’s have with the beach. It explores how the beach has been depicted by our painters, writers, poets, filmmakers, choreographers and composers. It is an examination of what the beach means both to Australians and those who come from other countries to enjoy it. The film won the 2001 Outstanding Achievement Award from the International Electronic Cinema Festival, Chiba, Japan. The film was directed and produced by Don Featherstone and David Woodgate.
