Mark a note in your diary, for April. It will be time for a night of some Lime Cordiale-flavoured fun as one of Australia’s hottest bands makes a unique visit to Venue 114. Featuring all the hits from their repertoire, plus new songs and a few surprises, this is one of the few chances for you to see this red-hot group in a headline appearance in Australia in 2023. Lime Cordiale is an Australian pop rock group with a distinctive sound that’s catchy and upbeat with a psychedelic shimmer and a retro edge. Renowned for their infectious performances and quirky nature, they have been one of the nation’s buzziest acts over the past couple of years. They have been touring both nationally and internationally with hit singles such as Robbery and Money.

A Path to the Water’s Edge 

Local artist Farley Cameron is artist in residence at the Arts and Ecology Centre in the Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Garden during February. She will open her studio doors to the public on the designated days and times listed. During the three-week residency, Cameron aims to explore the fragility of the flora, creekside rainforest and lagoon in the context of the urban sprawl that the region faces, and celebrate the resilience of our native flora.

When: Thursday, February 9, to Saturday, February 25, 10am to 2pm.

Brisbane Tango Orchestra 

The Brisbane Tango Orchestra joins forces with Australian-born/Buenos Aires-based composer and bandoneon soloist Owen Salome to bring an exciting concert of new tango music specially commissioned for this concert series. A Summer To Love ’23

Death of Guitar Pop 

The hottest new ska band in the UK, Death of Guitar Pop is touring Oz for the first time. It’s just off the back of a massive UK festival tour and new hit album Be Lucky. The 10-piece award-winning skanksters Sunny Coast Rude Boys will open the show, with further special guest artists and DJs yet to be announced.

Fundraising film screening 

Coast2bay Housing Group is building short-term accommodation for women and children impacted by domestic violence (RISE 2). After receiving initial funding to begin RISE 2, it now needs to raise an extra $250,000 in capital to complete the project. To help achieve this, the group is hosting a Gold Class fundraising film screening of the movie What’s Love Got To Do With It. Tickets include a glass of wine, beer or bubbles.

Exhibitions at Noosa

Noosa Regional Gallery is excited to kick off the new year with two new exhibitions that focus on local artists of the Sunshine Coast and their relationship with the natural environment. In an ambitiously scaled installation across the main gallery space, curator and Noosa Regional Gallery director Michael Brennan explores a unique perspective of ‘natural’ Noosa in More Than The Sum Of Its Parts, a group exhibition by Sunshine Coast artists. Meanwhile, Travis Purvis takes visitors on a journey into the natural world with Australian Siena.

Judith Nijland Jazz Quartet: A Jazz Tribute to ABBA

International Jazz superstar Judith Nijland is coming from the Netherlands for an Australian tour, with one show on the Sunshine Coast. The show will feature songs from her album A Jazz Tribute to ABBA. She has produced some absolutely stunning arrangements of ABBA songs, reinventing them for a new audience.
