The Treasurer will join the Caloundra Chamber of Commerce at the Events Centre on Thursday, June 24.

“This budget will propel the next phase of our COVID economic recovery plan, boosting businesses, strengthening frontline services and creating more jobs,” Mr Dick said.

“Through initiatives like our $1.84 billion Queensland Jobs Fund and record investments in health and social housing, we’re making sure Queensland’s economic recovery is supercharged.

“The Sunshine Coast is a Queensland powerhouse for industry and innovation, and our government is determined to maximise the region’s full potential.

“There’s something in this budget for everyone, so I encourage people to join me and my local Labor colleagues Robert Skelton and Jason Hunt for the Sunshine Coast Budget Lunch.”

The Queensland Labor Government has made its presence known in the previously blue-ribbon region this year following a change of colour in two Sunshine Coast seats.

This historic outcome for the Queensland Labor Party comes at a time of accelerated growth on the southern end of the Sunshine Coast and a significant change in demographic.

“State politics is more important today than ever before for our region in light of COVID-19.

“That’s why it is so important that business owners on the Sunshine Coast have a chance to directly hear from the Treasurer about the outcome of the Budget.”

The Sunshine Coast Budget Lunch will be held at the Events Centre, Caloundra on Thursday, June 24, from 11.30am to 2pm and includes and plated meal and a drink on arrival.
