Questions have been raised about the privacy of shoppers using change rooms near a security camera at a retail centre.

The issue was raised in a Facebook post in a Sunshine Coast-based group earlier this week, by a shopper who claimed the camera appeared visible from inside a change room at a women’s fashion store at Sunshine Plaza.

The post raised concerns about the privacy and safety of people using the fitting rooms and claimed the matter had been reported to store staff and centre management.

Sunshine Plaza has investigated the camera after the issue was brought to its attention.

Its review found the camera did not capture footage of the retailer’s changeroom and no part of the centre’s CCTV system recorded inside it.

The centre also reviewed the matter because of the privacy and safety concerns raised.

Queensland Police separately said they did not locate any reports matching the description of the incident.
