The Sunshine Coast Council’s Buy Local Day will be held on Saturday, June 27, to shine a spotlight on the sector’s contribution to jobs and the regional economy.

The day will highlight how local spending can support employment, investment and long-term economic growth across the region, which has more than 39,000 small and medium businesses.

Sunshine Coast Mayor Rosanna Natoli said Buy Local Day was an opportunity for the community to make a simple choice with a lasting impact.

“Buy Local Day is about backing our remarkable small and medium businesses across the Sunshine Coast,” she said.

“Local business creates local employment so when we choose to shop locally, we’re investing in jobs, families, and our region’s future.

“Of course, every day is a great day to buy from a local business, and Buy Local Day is a fantastic reminder to keep that spending close to home. Supporting local businesses helps drive a thriving economy right here in our community.  On June 27, make the choice: buy local and support Sunshine Coast businesses”.
