A 23-year-old Mountain Creek man has been charged after allegedly leading police on a dangerous series of pursuits across the Sunshine Coast on Thursday night.

Police allege the incidents began about 9.45pm when Sunshine Coast Highway Patrol officers observed two motorcycles speeding southbound on Alexandra Parade. A short time later, POLAIR tracked the motorcycles allegedly being ridden dangerously towards Battery Hill. No members of the public were injured.

It is alleged that just after 10pm the man parked one of the motorcycles at a Nicklin Way property before fleeing on an e-scooter. Police say a Sunshine Coast Dog Squad officer located him and directed him to stop, but he allegedly pushed the e-scooter into the officer before running away. The officer suffered minor leg injuries.

Police further allege the man then entered a grey BMW coupe and, when another officer attempted to intercept him, reversed the vehicle, causing the officer to fall. It is also alleged he then drove at the officer, who rolled away to avoid being struck. Neither officer required medical treatment.

POLAIR allegedly tracked the BMW through Eumundi and Bli Bli before it entered an underground carpark on David Low Way, where police allege the man entered another vehicle.

Just after 11pm, police intercepted the second vehicle on Wises Road at Buderim and arrested the 23-year-old.

He has been charged with two counts each of dangerous operation of a vehicle involving speeding or an unlawful race or speed trial, using an unregistered vehicle, driving an uninsured vehicle, disobeying the speed limit, driving without a licence and obstructing a police officer.

He has also been charged with one count each of assaulting a police officer, endangering a police officer while driving a motor vehicle, driving while displaying a green P plate without holding the required P2 licence, driving a high-powered vehicle without an exemption certificate, and dangerous operation of a vehicle.

The man was refused bail and was due to appear in the Noosa Magistrates Court today.

Investigations are continuing.
