A small Brisbane dessert truck has expanded to the Sunshine Coast, opening two new stores in the region.

Tropicool Treats has launched its latest store at Shop 102/75 Mooloolaba Esplanade, with scoopable cookie dough emerging as one of its most popular menu items.

The business is owned by Chandan Katna, Ali Al Tamimi and Hussien Al Tamimi, who are also preparing to open a third store in Noosa.

“We realised there was strong demand for a physical store experience, which led to the opening of our first store in Sunnybank,” Mr Katna said.

The brand initially built its following on soft serve acai bowls, which the owners say helped drive early growth and remains its signature offering.

At its Mooloolaba store, the menu has expanded to include smoothies, cold-pressed juices, matcha and a range of desserts.

Mr Katna said the business continued to evolve its offering with new and seasonal items.

“While our super smooth acai bowls remain our signature and most recognised product, one of the standout favourites has quickly become our scoopable cookies,” he said.

The cookie dough is served warm with vanilla ice cream and comes in two varieties: an original with chocolate and Nutella, and a ‘Dubai’ version with chocolate, Nutella, pistachio sauce and signature filling.

“Our homemade tiramisus have also become increasingly popular, particularly the classic and mango flavours, which have been very well received by customers,” Mr Katna said.

He said the response from customers since opening has exceeded expectations.

“We have consistently been operating at full seating capacity during evenings and weekends,” Mr Katna said.

“One of the most rewarding parts has been seeing customers return regularly and introduce friends and family to the store.

“Being part of the Mooloolaba Esplanade has been an exciting opportunity for us, and we are grateful for how warmly the community has welcomed the brand so far.”

The team is now preparing for its next expansion, with a Noosa store set to open on May 29, with a soft launch planned beforehand.
