A major investigation into drug trafficking across Queensland has led to dozens of arrests, hundreds of charges and the seizure of drugs, cash, weapons and luxury assets.

The Sunshine Coast’s Drug and Serious Crime Taskforce was involved in Operation Xray Volt, which targeted the distribution of methylamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, MDMA, performance enhancing drugs (PEDs) and cannabis between April 2022 and March 2026.

Fifty-one people have been charged with 220 drug and weapon offences, with police seizing more than $80,000 cash, multiple high-end luxury vehicles, a Harley Davidson motorbike, significant quantities of illicit drugs and firearms.

Multiple search warrants were executed in Cairns, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Maryborough, Gympie and the Sunshine Coast on March 25.

Around 6am, detectives executed a search warrant at an address at Lyon Place in Sippy Downs where they seized GHB, steroids and other drugs, as well as drug utensils, ammunition and other property.

A 30-year-old Mooloolah Valley man was charged with 32 offences including seven counts of trafficking dangerous drugs. He was due to face Maroochydore Magistrates Court on March 26.

A 20-year-old Sippy Downs woman was also charged with producing dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs, and offence to buy or possess S4 or S8 medicines or hazardous poisons. She was due to face Maroochydore Magistrates Court on April 16.

At 7am, detectives from the Far North Major and Organised Crime Squad executed a search warrant at a unit in Parramatta Park and seized a mobile phone allegedly used to traffic dangerous drugs.

A 25-year-old Parramatta Park man was charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count contravening order about information necessary to access information stored electronically. He is due to face Cairns Magistrates Court on April 13.

Just before 12.30pm, detectives from Bundaberg CIB executed a search warrant at a Cascade Parade property in Bargara and seized tablets, drug utensils, two gel blasters and other items.

A 51-year-old Bargara man was charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs, and one count each of possess utensils or pipes, possess property suspected of having been used in commission of a drug offence and possessing/acquiring restricted items. He is due to face Bundaberg Magistrates Court on April 24.

Further search warrants were executed on the Sunshine Coast on April 10.

Just after 6am, a search warrant was executed at an address on Tanawha Tourist Drive in Tanawha with police seizing $41,000 in cash, a quantity of MDMA and two mobile phones.

A 22-year-old Tanawha man was charged with one count each of trafficking dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of weapons, possessing anything used in the commission of a crime, possess tainted property, authority required to possess explosives and breach of bail. He was due to face Maroochydore Magistrates Court on April 11.

Another search warrant was executed at 7am at an address on Pandorea Street in Meridan Plains, where police seized a Harley Davidson, cocaine and a mobile phone.

A 25-year-old Meridan Plains man was charged with possessing property suspected of having been acquired for committing a drug offence, possessing anything for us in the commission of crime and contravening order about information necessary to access information stored electronically. He is due to face Maroochydore Magistrates Court on May 11.
