A motorist has been charged with multiple offences after allegedly almost colliding with a police car and recording a breath test more than four times the legal limit.
Police intercepted a silver Honda Jazz hatchback that was allegedly travelling northbound in the southbound lane of Frizzo Connection Road, narrowly avoiding running into a marked police vehicle, at Palmview just before 9pm on April 7.
It will be further alleged the vehicle was travelling more than 100km/h in a 60km/h zone.
An officer pulled the Honda over near the intersection with Pignata Road and conducted a roadside breath test, where it will be alleged the driver returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.204 per cent.
A 26-year-old Morayfield woman was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance and driving a vehicle under the influence of liquor.
She is due to face Maroochydore Magistrates Court on April 28.
Maroochydore Sergeant Darren Nolan said there was no excuse for drink-driving or speeding.
“It is the most dangerous and reckless display of driving I have personally witnessed in my 38 years of policing,” he said.
“It was just pure luck and fortune that no one was seriously injured or even worse, killed.”

“Every choice you make behind the wheel matters. Driving under the influence, speeding, driving distracted or not wearing a seatbelt puts your life, and the lives of others, at serious risk,” it said.
“These dangerous behaviours will not be tolerated. Queenslanders can expect police, anywhere, anytime.”
