The moment the winner of the Sunshine Coast’s record-breaking $13.9 million prize home was told he had struck it rich has been captured on video.
Footage released by Dream Home Art Union shows the stunned reaction from the lucky recipient as he learns he has won a luxury wellness mansion at Sunshine Beach – the biggest prize home giveaway in Australian history.
“I am stunned. I have never won anything in my life – not even a meat tray,” the Sydney man identified as ‘Kristian’ said moments after receiving the call.
“I’ve had to work hard for everything I’ve done.”
The spectacular four-bedroom home, designed by Paul Clout, sits at 27 Adams Street and enjoys sweeping ocean views along with an array of high-end wellness features.
The property includes a private sauna, steam room, ice bath, gym, pool and plunge spa, along with expansive indoor and outdoor entertaining areas.
The residence also features a lift, parents’ retreat and climate-controlled cellar.
Kristian said he had occasionally imagined what winning might feel like, but never believed it would actually happen.
“I never expected to win, but before I would go to sleep, I’d like to think about what I would do if I won and who I would give it to,” he said.
Rather than focusing on the luxury lifestyle the home offers, he said the win presented an opportunity to help others.
“There are so many wonderful things I can do to help people with a win like this. That is what is important,” he said.
“I have done it all and I have got a nice life, but to be able to give to other people who are deserving is just a wonderful thing to be able to do.”

Dream Home Art Union general manager Ben Sawkins said the Sunshine Beach property had been designed to reflect the growing demand for health and wellbeing features in modern homes.
“The home has intentionally been designed as a private wellness retreat, inspired by Mediterranean health resorts which reflects the growing shift towards holistic wellbeing-focused living for Australians,” he said.

The prize package includes far more than the house itself.
The fully styled property comes with $391,427 in designer furniture and high-end appliances, $250,000 in gold bullion, rates and water expenses worth $10,100, legal transfer fees and a $3000 travel voucher.
Mr Sawkins said the winner also had the option of renting out the home, with the property estimated to generate about $156,000 a year.
Property specialist Sharon Whitlam said the Sunshine Beach home set a benchmark when it came to incorporating wellness facilities into residential design.
She said the shift towards wellbeing-focused living had accelerated in recent years, with features such as saunas and recovery spaces now among the most requested additions in dream homes, while traditional luxury inclusions such as home bars and billiard rooms have slipped down the wish list.
