In a case of revolving doors, a major local charity is set to close the doors to one of its long-standing outlets to open a larger, more modern retail space elsewhere on the Coast.
Neighbours Aid is calling for volunteers to help power its new op shop at Minyama which will open its doors on March 16.
Roles include customer service, sorting donations, merchandising, warehousing and general retail support. No previous retail experience is required.
The community is invited to celebrate the grand opening from 9am on opening day by exploring the new store at 2 Eden Street.
The local charity commenced trading with one store in Nambour more than 20 years ago and expanded to 10 stores from Brisbane to Bundaberg. Its Mooloolaba store will close to pave way for the new Minyama store.
The new location will offer expanded floor space and an improved layout, showcasing a wide range of quality pre-loved clothing, furniture, homewares, books, toys and one-of-a-kind second-hand treasures. Every purchase made in-store supports the organisation’s international projects focused on empowering vulnerable children and communities.
Operations manager Suzie Hinson said the move represented an exciting new chapter for both the charity and the local community.
“Our new Minyama op shop will allow us to offer a larger and more accessible store for customers, while continuing the important work that Neighbours Aid is known for,” she said.
“We want to thank our Mooloolaba community for their years of support and warmly invite everyone to shop at the new location.”
