A Sunshine Coast man is planning to pay off his mortgage after pocketing more than $740,000 in a weekend lotto draw.

The Nambour resident held one of nine Division 1-winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4643, which was drawn on Saturday.

Each Division 1-winning entry scored $741,935.70.

The winning man had forgotten about his ticket over the weekend and was completely blown away by the revelation.

“Oh my god! Division 1!” he said when The Lott contacted him with the good news.

“Wow. That’s pretty good. Thank you! That’s amazing.

“It will help a lot. God, I’m lost for words. I had no idea. I normally check my ticket after the draw but it didn’t even cross my mind. I think the most I’ve won is about $30 or $40. I’m just in shock.”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his windfall, the man confessed he was already planning a list.

“I’m already spending it in my head,” he said.

“It’ll wipe out the mortgage, and then it means the money we normally pay towards the mortgage can be ours.”

His winning 25-game QuickPick entry was purchased via The Lott app.

The winning numbers were 38, 8, 35, 19, 44 and 9, while the supplementary numbers were 23 and 33.

In 2025, more than 121.6 million winners took home more than $3.93 billion in prize money from games at The Lott.

Last financial year, Australia’s official lotteries contributed more than $1.66 billion via state lottery taxes and donations to help community initiatives, such as hospitals, health research, disaster relief and education.
