Terri Irwin has given a glimpse of her new role as a besotted grandmother following the birth of Bindi’s first baby.

Terri posted a photo to Twitter as she cradled three-week-old Grace Warrior Irwin Powell while introducing her granddaughter to some chickens.

“Introducing Grace to some of the animals living in her backyard,” Terri, 56, captioned the image which Bindi reposted with the caption: “The most wonderful moment.”

Bindi also took to social media to rejoice in her little one reaching the three-week milestone, writing: “Happy 3 weeks, Grace Warrior. Your dad and I love you beyond description.

“Thank you for being the most beautiful light in our lives.”

In another recent image, Bindi shared a cute photo of Grace wearing a wombat onesie which is part of the Baby Wildlife Warrior range.

Bindi and husband Chandler Powell’s daughter was born on the day of their first wedding anniversary on March 25.

Bindi revealed Grace was named after her great grandmother and relatives in Chandler’s family dating back to the 1700s.

“Her middle names, Warrior Irwin, are a tribute to my dad and his legacy as the most incredible Wildlife Warrior,” the new mum shared with her 4.5 million Instagram followers.

“Her last name is Powell and she already has such a kind soul just like her dad.”

Bindi and Powell tied the knot at Australia Zoo on March 25 last year, shortly before social distancing rules were brought in because of the pandemic.

Bindi’s brother Robert has also been cherishing his new role as an uncle, writing on Twitter: “Being Grace’s uncle is awesome! Can’t wait to watch this little warrior take on the world.

“She’ll be running the zoo in no time! Honoured to share all the experiences I had growing up in a zoo & teach her about everything from rescuing wildlife to caring for our family of animals.”
