A man has been flown to hospital after a vehicle collided with a tree in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

The Queensland Ambulance Service stated that the man, in his 40s, was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, in a life-threatening condition, after the incident at a Belli Park T-intersection on Friday night.

He sustained significant chest and head injuries after the single-vehicle crash on the corner of Paddy Melon Lane and Eumundi Kenilworth Road, at 9.22pm.

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew attended the scene.

LifeFlight stated that, due to severe weather conditions, the team was taken by ambulance to the crash site.

The man was trapped and was extricated by emergency services.

He was treated for by the LifeFlight critical care doctor, QAS flight paramedic and local QAS paramedics.

He was taken by ambulance to Sunshine Coast Airport before being airlifted by LifeFlight to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for further treatment.

He was in a critical but stable condition late Saturday afternoon.

Meanwhile, a woman was rushed to hospital after another significant crash on the Sunshine Coast, about an hour later.

The woman was rushed to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, with potentially life-threatening head injuries.

She was involved in a single-vehicle crash on Bruce Highway off-ramp, to Bli Bli Road, at about 10.27pm.

A patient was transported to Nambour Hospital, in a stable condition, following a single-vehicle crash on Diddilibah Road at Diddilibah on Saturday morning, at 9.14am.

And multiple people were involved in a two-vehicle crash at Sippy Downs on Saturday, at 2.08pm.

One person was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition while eight others were assessed on the scene but declined transport to hospital, after the incident on the corner of Scholars Drive and University Way at 2.08pm.
