Savills Asset Management retail manager Monique Rodrigues said the expansion would meet the needs of the bustling local community and surrounding areas, including Coolum, Noosa and Maroochydore.

“With the Sunshine Coast being one of the fastest-growing regions in Australia, this expansion is perfectly timed to provide greater retail diversity and convenience to local families and businesses,” she said.

“This project represents a significant investment in the local economy, reinforcing Peregian Springs Shopping Centre as the heart of the community.”

Construction started early last year.

Structural development and infrastructure upgrades are well underway before internal fit-outs and tenancy allocations are carried out. It’s expected to be completed by late this year.

The multi-storey expansion, designed by CCN Architects, is being built by Hutchinson Builders.

It will essentially consist of two wings connected by a lobby.

There will bes space for offices, a gym, cafes and more.

Target tenant usages for the new spaces include food and beverage operators for the ground floor, with tenancy sizes ranging from 57sqm to 108sqm.

A variety of offices, services and allied health operators are being sought for level one spaces that range from 63sqm to a full-floor plate of 407sqm.

There is also a development across the road, where a proposal for a tavern has been discarded to make way for more apartments.
